Project Overview

Our goal in this project was to develop a web-based platform for mock exams that caters to specific exam boards used in schools (e.g., GL, CEM, CSSE, Tiffin/SET, ISEB). The platform will serve as a comprehensive tool for revision and learning, offering users handwritten and video solutions to aid their understanding in school exams. Additionally, the system will feature a dashboard that includes a comparison tool and statistical data analysis to help users track their progress and gain valuable insights.

Project Execution

The project involved creating an online mock exam platform for specific school boards. For front-end development, we used React, Node and Firebase for back-end development, including storage and data recovery. Figma was also used to design wireframes, UI, and prototypes, and we purchased a professional template for more efficiency. The landing page captured customer information in exchange for value, and we chose to work with Firebase to create authentication and authorization systems. The dashboard included a comparison tool, statistical data, and an authorization check. The exam creation step managed school-specific exams and allowed customization of answer selections and resolutions, with Firebase interactions and NAS for data storage. In the exams resolution step, students selected exams, solved questions with a timer, and viewed answers.

Project Results

We successfully completed the MVP for the Mock Exam Centre, resulting in the development of a great web-based platform for mock exams that caters to specific school boards. The platform provides comprehensive tools for revision and learning, including handwritten and video solutions. The project involved using React, Node, Firebase and Figma for design. We also completed various stages, including authentication and authorization, dashboard creation, exam creation and resolution, and more. The team also conducted final testing, bug fixing, training. The last phase was preparing for the launch. We established launch metrics, launched the product by the end of April and conducted a post-launch retrospective.
